Treating Fibroids
Fibroids are non-cancerous growths in the womb (uterus). Most women with fibroids may go about their daily life without noticing, due to a lack of symptoms. However, on some occasions, they can cause health complications.

What Causes Fibroids?
Research is still ongoing, but some experts suggest that excess estrogen (especially for girls and women aged 16 to 50) may be the culprit.
Research also suggests that women who have diets high in red meat, high-cholesterol foods, and alcohol may be at a higher risk of developing fibroids.

Symptoms of Fibroids
Fibroids are the most common non-cancerous growths in women. It is important to note that only 1 in 3 women experience negative symptoms, such as:
heavy or painful periods
abdominal or lower back pain
frequent urination
constipation
dyspareunia, or pain during sex

Natural Remedies of Fibroids
It is important to speak with your physician regarding fibroids, especially if symptoms become intense. However, there are some natural remedies that can help alleviate symptoms.

Cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, spinach, and lettuce
Apart from being rich in fiber and antioxidants, cruciferous vegetables help get rid of excess estrogen by detoxifying the liver.

Fruits rich in flavonoids
Examples are citrus fruits like lime, lemon and oranges, as well as berries. Flavonoids are powerful antioxidant plant compounds that stop tumor growth in their tracks.

Beans and lentils
Beans and lentils high fiber content can help balance hormones in the body, preventing excess estrogen

Green tea
Green tea contains flavanols, a sub-class of flavonoids. As such, this compound is also a potent antioxidant. Studies suggest that green tea extract has the power to shrink fibroid growth.

Berries
As mentioned earlier, berries are packed with antioxidants due to their flavonoid content. However, berries (blueberries, mulberries, raspberries, grapes) are also packed with resveratrol, which are responsible for reducing the expression of proteins responsible for the growth of fibroids

Turmeric
Turmeric is loaded with curcumin, a compound that destroys fibroid cells.
