Mee Goreng is a classic Malaysian comfort food, usually served in Mamaks.
This recipe will include no meat, so that you can still indulge in this tasty dish while keeping meat-free.

Benefits of Mee Goreng
Tom Yum is made of the following ingredients:
Onion: Regulates blood sugar, improves digestion and bone density
Garlic: Regulates blood pressure and cholesterol
Choy Sum: Protects the eyes, strengthens bones, promotes good digestion and detoxes the liver
Cabbage: Lowers inflammation, protects against heart disease and stroke, improves immune system and strengthens bones
Bean Sprouts: Regulates blood pressure and cholesterol and protects against cancer
Tofu: Good source of protein
Blackstrap Molasses: Good for iron deficiency, bone health, and constipation
Brown Rice Vinegar: Regulates blood pressure and cholesterol, promotes weight loss
Calamansi Lime: Protects the eyes, promotes immune health, promotes collagen production, reduces acidity in the gut
Ingredients for Mee Goreng
1 ¼ cup chopped Choy Sum
1 ¼ cup chopped cabbage
1 ¼ cup bean sprouts
1 onion, roughly chopped
½ clove garlic, roughly chopped
1 ½ cup tofu
1 ½ tablespoon vegetable oil
450g yellow noodles
Fried shallots flakes
Ingredients for Mee Goreng Sauce
4 tablespoon tomato paste
3 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses
½ tablespoon brown rice vinegar
1 tablespoon arrowroot powder
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 calamansi lime
Tools for Mee Goreng
1 wok
Preparing the Mee Goreng
Chop the Choy Sum, cabbage, onion, garlic into small chunks
Preparing the Mee Goreng Sauce
Mix together all the ingredients for the mee goreng sauce
Cooking the Mee Goreng
Heat up 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a frying pan on high heat
Add in onion and garlic and fry for 3 minutes
Add ½ tablespoon of oil, and toss in all vegetables and tofu
Toss in yellow noodles and sauce mixture
Stir fry for 3-4 minutes until ingredients and noodles are evenly mixed
Serving
Sprinkle fried shallot flakes (Optional)
Cut the calamansi lime in half, and squeeze the juice over the noodles
